|Born in Akron, Ohio|
My dad used to tell the story that I was a mistake, as he forgot the condoms one night that my parents spent in Evergreen, Colorado. Of course, I have no way of verifying this but I assume it's true. From what I remember about the story, they spent the night in a cabin while on vacation.
I was born in Akron General Hospital on August 15, 1950. My birth certificate says it was at 11:53 pm. At that time, I had two older brothers, Rick who was 3-1/2 and Bob who was 9.
My father's name was Robert Reese Lutz, and my mother's maiden name was Ethel Bernise Rice.

Akron used to be where all the tires were manufactured, earning it the nickname, "The Rubber City." But not anymore, all of that industry has been shipped overseas as has much of the industrial base of the U.S.
My dad worked as sales manager for Cornwell Tool Co. at the time when I was born.
The family lived in Mogadore, Ohio where many others from the Lutz and Rice clans lived.
Some of my relatives still live in Mogadore.
