FTL – SEA Transport

The first few ventures to Ft. Lauderdale were done based out of motel rooms with transportation provided via commercial airlines. After three round-trips between Lauderdale and Seattle, I bought a 1978 Mobile Traveler mini-motorhome, which made the trip safer and more relaxing. Also then rented a house in Ft. Lauderdale to go with the Seattle residence.

Back then, there was not so much of a problem using large sums of cash, but even still, I felt uncomfortable paying approximately $15,000 in cash for a motorhome, so instead, Sharon had her father purchase the vehicle using cash from our bank-roll (BR).

We purchased the MT in the fall of 1977, and in the next year, made about six round-trips between FTL and SEA. In the fall of '78 we decided to quit the business following a visit by two federal agents to Sharon's parent's home, asking about Sharon, and some guy from Florida named "Tony".

I kept the RV after Sharon and I went our own seperate ways in 1979, although Sharon eventually took over the RV, after I ditched it at the Ontario, California airport, following the incident with the Suzy twins in Las Vegas.

Sharon, pictured with me at right in 1977, died in 2012 at age 64

Next are a few additional photos of similar models.

Same color scheme on this unit as the one we owned.

A look at the kitchen area.

Sleeping in the very back of the rig.

The dinette folds into a double bed.

This model has a different floor plan, but the cab and cab-over sleeping berth are the same.

Another identical unit with a storage pod on the roof.

Ours had two pods, side-by-side

(each pod would hold approximately 75 kilos)

How I began "the Work"

How I began "the Work" The conditions of life in which a man is placed at the beginning of his work, in which, so to speak, the work finds him, are the best possible for him, at any rate at the beginning of the work. These conditions are natural for him. These conditions are the man himself, because a man's life and its conditions correspond to what he is. Any conditions different from those created...
